Just because summer is heating up, doesn’t mean your power bill should too.

Georgia’s Public Service Commissioners have approved rate increases that could cause your

family’s power bills to rise nearly $45 a month.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is a body of 5 elected officials who regulate our

electricity, natural gas, and telecommunications across Georgia. They decide how much

Georgia Power customers pay for power, and decide what kind of energy sources Georgia

Power uses.

While their job is to be watch dogs for consumers, they’re acting like lap dogs for corporate

utility interests, and they have to be held accountable. With summer at our doorstep and

dangerous temperatures already on their way, our Public Service Commissioners should be

making our power bills more affordable — not the other way around.
