We Remember: Vigil for Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Plant Vogtle, and Fukushima

Join thousands this evening, March 28, 2011, as we stand for Japan at vigils organized by Greenpeace on the anniversary of the 1979 Three Mile Island meltdown disaster in Pennsylvania. As Fukushima continues to disintegrate in the worst radiological disaster in human history, we also observe the 25 years since the catastrophic meltdown and explosion at Chernobyl.

We gather in front of Georgia Power Headquarters to demand that the United States and Southern Company stand down from plans to build two unnecessary, risky reactors in Georgia with TAXPAYER money.

Bring drums, musical instruments, and messages of respectful remembrance for Japan and bright messages of hope for a clean energy future. Consider a message of outrage to Southern Company: NO TAX $$ FOR VOGTLE! To see the vigil homepage and RSVP, click here.

Meet us between 4:30-7:00PM this afternoon at the corner of Ralph McGill and Piedmont Road by the Georgia Power Headquarters: 241 Ralph McGill Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.

Now is our time to stand in solidarity and remembrance!
