"By the People" Immigrants' Rights Lobby Day - ACLU of Georgia

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Georgia is offering lobby training to our coalition partners each Tuesday during the legislative session. On this day, special focus will be on legislation that will impact immigrant and refugee communities in our state as well as federal immigration reform.

WeCount! 2014 Election Committee

This will beome a regular monthly meeting to coordinate voter registration, education and mobilization state wide. 6:30-8:30 pm working meeting, pizza and drinks will be provided.

Georgia WAND Fukushima Remembrance Event

Save the date for the 3 year anniversary of  the Fukushima nuclear accident. We’ll come together to talk about what’s really going on in Japan, what it means for the US nuclear industry and how we can work together to protect our communities and the earth.

Lobby Day - Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty

Join us to push Georgia legislators to end the death penalty in the state of Georgia. The death penalty is growing in this state and it will continue to grow until the cruel and inhumane punishment is no longer needed. There will be light refreshments and lobby training.

Lobby Day - Georgia WAND - We Count!

Women in the Halls hosts Georgia WAND for lobby training and meeting with our legislators. Join us from 9:00-10:00 AM for Breakfast and Lobby Training, followed by meeting with legislators from 10:00-11:45AM at the State Capitol – third floor.

When:  Wednesday, March 12, 9:00 AM

Third Friday Film Series

Come join us as we partake in the Third Friday Film Series. This Friday, we will watch the 27 awards winning movie,  Fruitvale Station. The film is about Oscar Grant, 22-year-old black man who was shot dead on a subway platform on New Years Eve in 2009 by BART police. Popcorn and refreshments will be available and we accept donations.
