Election Day: November 5, 2013

IMAGE_we countElection Day 2013 is November 5! Local and state elections are generally overlooked, but are crucial to the governing of your communities. Part of strengthening and empowering our communities means making sure everyone can get to the polls!

Take part in exercising your civil right to be counted! Here’s how you can protect yourself from current voter obstructions:

1. Make sure you know where to vote because many notices of closed precincts did not go out

2. If you have been tagged erroneously as a felon, call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683):

3. Check the Georgia Secretary of State My Voter Page website at http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us/ and make sure your status says "active"

4. Got to http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/voting_information.htm to further understand voting in Georgia

Call Amanda at Georgia WAND: 404-524-5999

or email: amanda@georgiawand.org to volunteer to help provide rides to the polls.

Please re-post to help spread the word
