Burke County Air Monitoring Station Update by Janie Hill-Scott

Radionuclide Environmental Monitoring and Outreach Project (REMOP) — This important 3-year educational and outreach program, brokered by Georgia WAND staff and community leaders, established air monitoring at the location Georgia WAND requested on River Road, near Plant Vogtle.
Radionuclide Monitoring started on July 31, 2019 and will continue through July 2020, with data to be compiled in a report by the Savannah River Ecology Lab (SREL). The program will reach out to local residents about the sources, levels, and risks of radionuclides and metals in the environment in which they live, and a community education program will be developed based on community surveys and participation and the results of the monitoring analysis.
