Send a Woman to Washington!
Georgia WAND is taking thirteen women to Washington D.C. to learn more about nuclear issues and advocate against nuclear power as they meet with Congressional representatives. DC Days is an annual workshop organized by the Alliance for Nuclear Accountability. The comprehensive training helps to build participants' comfort level in talking about nuclear issues, and a team approach ensures that everyone can play a meaningful role in Congressional meetings. This year’s theme, “Nuclear Reality Check$”, highlights both the myths surrounding the Department of Energy’s “complex modernization” plans and the frequent cost overruns associated with nuclear projects. With the current nuclear crisis in Japan, now is the time to get our voices heard about the dangers of nuclear power and the urgent need to cut back! Nine of our women need sponsors - make your donation on behalf of DC Days now by clicking here!
