Georgia WAND participates in radiation monitoring training!
By Bernice Johnson-Howard, Georgia WAND Board Member
I attended the NRDC sponsored Safecast bGeige workshop on April 21 and 22 which was held at the NRDC building in Washington DC.
It was a wonderful experience. I expected to gain important and useful information and to learn new skills. I also expected to meet new people and to learn from their valuable work experience in their various grassroots organizations and I was not disappointed. My expectations were met to a most satisfying degree.
The NRDC group was attentive and wonderful hosts. The training was informative and the instructors were patient and personable. I met people who share my commitment in their quest of making and keeping the earth environmentally safe for all generations. I enjoyed meeting everyone. My life has been made richer by the friendships that began at the workshop and hopefully those friendships will continue in the future.
My continued thanks goes out to the NRDC and to WAND for giving the shell Bluff area a useful tool for monitoring air quality.
