Congratulating GA Congressman John Lewis, Medal of Freedom recipient

Georgia WAND staff and board gathered with other Atlantans at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Monday, February 21 to welcome home Congressman John Lewis, recent recipient of the 2011 Presidential Medal of Freedom.  The award is “presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
