Obama Signs New START
President Obama signed New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty Wednesday, February 2, pushing the treaty one step closer to completion.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed New START last week, after it cleared Russia’s parliament.
The treaty will be officially ratified when the United States and Russia exchange the signed document. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are scheduled to make the exchange this weekend when they attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany, according to the Associated Press.
